Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. – French carmaker, specializing in the production of cars under the brand name of luxury Bugatti. Headquarters – family estate Chateau Saint-Jean (fr. Château Saint Jean) – and production are located in the Alsatian town Molsheim. Currently, the company is part of the German company Volkswagen AG.
Bugatti cars were extremely successful in racing, won thousands of victories in just a few decades. In their first race small cars Bugatti Type 10 took the first four places, and Bugatti Type 35 in 1924 is probably the most successful racing car of all time with more than 2,000 victories. In the race Targa Florio Bugatti held the top spot for five years from 1925 to 1929. The greatest number of podiums at the wheel Bugatti took Louis Chiron (named after him the concept car Bugatti 18/3 Chiron (Eng.).
